About the gap analysis

The gap analysis feature helps match your profile to the right job opportunities. It provides an objective assessment of how well your qualifications align with the job’s requirements and preferences.

Once your profile is complete and you respond to a job assignment, Striive compares key profile details, such as skills, certifications, and education, with the job’s required and preferred qualifications. This comparison generates an objective evaluation of how well you match the role.

A key part of this analysis is the evaluation of the required skills. Striive calculates the number of years of experience you have for each required skill and evaluates how closely that experience aligns with the job's expectations:

  • green (): you meet or exceed the required years of experience. The display shows both your years of experience and the required number of years, indicating a strong match.
  • green check mark: if the job description does not specify the required years of experience, and you have the skill listed and unassigned, a check mark appears when you have any experience with that skill.
  • yellow (): you have some experience, but it is below the required number of years. The display shows both your years of experience and the required number of years.
  • yellow question mark(): you have this skill, but it is unassigned, meaning it is not linked to any work experience, and the number of years of experience is unknown.
  • red cross (): you have no experience for that skill based on the information in the profile.
